As you might imagine, when we held the first Quality Talks in the autumn of last year, we were anxious to hear what our guests and speakers thought about, well, everything. The speakers. The topics of the talks. The venue.
One of the things we heard about most was the format. They liked the short, but inspiring stage presentations. They also raved about what we came to call the “hubs. Hubs occurred during the downtime between stage presentations. They were essentially intimate discussions hosted by our speakers in a “living room” setting after leaving the stage. The 30-minute hub sessions were designed to encourage further, more intimate discussion of the Quality Talks.
By all accounts, the hubs were a success. The speakers liked them because they got more time to offer additional context to their presentations. Audience members appreciated the opportunity to meet, and in some cases, network, with our esteemed speakers.

You can bet we considered these reviews of our first event in planning Quality Talks 2016. The audience liked our speakers so much, we asked them to recommend new speakers for this year’s event. The venue is changing to add more seating. But we’re keeping the hubs just the way they are. Uh, the way they were.
That’s because more discussion—more shared ideas—can only foster further quality improvement. After all, isn’t that what Quality Talks is really all about?
